With kids, they seem to grow up in the blink of an eye.  But the individual days can drag on foreverrrrrr....  Here are some ideas for how to keep your kids, and yourself, entertained.  

 

  • Drop-in play Locations (with structured classes also):

    • The PlayPlace in Somerville, recently opened and offering drop-in time and classes. 

    • The Hill House in Beacon Hill offers structured classes and drop-in play times.  

    • Imagine Cambridge in Cambridge offering structured classes and drop-in play times.  

    • The Loved Child in Belmont offers structured classes and drop-in play times.  

    • Babycakes of Charlestown located in Charlestown offering structured classes and drop-in play times. 

    • Ready, Set, Kids located in Arlington.  Offering drop-in play as well as structured classes.  

    • Nazarro Center located in the North End.  Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 10-12am.  

    • MyGym located in Boston, Newton and Medfield.  Offering drop-in play times.  

    • A Mom is Born located in downtown Boston, offering new moms groups Wednesday from 12:30-2 and a Breastfeeding Q&A session from 12-12:30.  

    • Blue Kangaroo- Play Group Located in Newton.  
       

  • Cooking (for older kids): 

    • Create a Cook in Newton Highlands offers kid-friendly cooking classes.  

    • Boston University offers kid-friendly cooking classes featuring foods from around the globe.  

    • Kids Cooking Green offers cooking classes with a focus on sustainability and green cooking practices.

    • Panera Bread offers a baking program for kids ages 5-12.

    • The KITCHEN at the Boston Public Market offers kid's cooking classes for ages 6-10.

  • Learning (for all ages and interests): 

    • The New England Aquarium offers the Sea Squirts program, teaching kids as young as 1 years old about sea life. 

    • Bilingual Boston offers its Baby Bees immersion-based classes for infants starting at age 6 months, offering additional classes for all ages.  

    • Spanish in Motion teaches Spanish to children ages 0-6.  

    • Tiny Signs offers baby sign language in Natick.  
       

  • Art (for all ages): 

  • Dance (for all ages):

    • Urbanity offers dance classes and drop in sessions for kids ages 6 months and up.  Located in the South End.  Their classes are great for developing motor skills, listening, focus, and balance.  Plus they're tons of fun.  

    • Boston Ballet offering ballet classes starting at 16 months.

    • MyGym offers tumbling, stretching and gymnastics-style classes.  

    • Fresh Pond Ballet offering ballet classes in Cambridge.  

    • Jeannette Neil Dance Studio offering dance classes in Beacon Hill starting at age 3.

    • Little Beats at The Dance Academy: Fostering growth and development through Music & Movement and Dance classes for babies and toddlers in Newton.
